In de Angelsaksische pers duikt het woord crexit op, een samentrekking van crisis en exit, naar analogie van bekende woorden uit 2012 als Grexit en Brixit.
In tegenstelling tot Grexit en Brixit is er sprake van optimisme; met crexit wordt bedoeld een 'exit' van de 'crisis', het feit dat (het ergste van) de Europese schuldencrisis wel eens achter de rug zou kunnen zijn. Of dat zo is moet uiteraard nog blijken.
